Customer : The African Extension
Description
UNISOFT SYSTEMS were involved in this project for the full SDLC, taking an existing system written in Microsoft Access and re-engineering it. Firstly the business processes were defined through JAD sessions with the client. Using the existing MS Access database as a starting point. An SQL Server database was designed as a logical Erwin Model and normalised to 3rd normal form. We then used Erwin to create the database. The next step was to use our own unique VB code generator to read the SQL Server table structure and generate the data entry (maintenance) forms. After that we built the workflow functionality in the form of the Task Manager component. Lastly the transaction processing & reporting functionality was built. The result was VB 6 application of over two hundred forms that maintains the pricing & content data for media across Africa, issues invoices, flighting schedules, payments, receipts, and uploads content information via XML to monitoring software around the African continent.
